Appreciation: Textbook definitions of lichens may have to be revised

    Definite revisions needed... plus in many cases a section on lichens must be added to texts that basically ignore them :-)

    More recently too, there have been some other astonishing discoveries about lichen! And I expect more to come....

    Yay!!

    3rd fungal partner, from genus Tremella in Letharia, as well as several papers supporting the potential partner roles of other lichen associates.
    Toby Spribille is involved in many of these cutting edge projects as well.
    Very exciting time to be interested in lichen - Yay! :-)
