    Hi everyone,

A friend of mine offered me a big plant from Tropical America he had for years. After a long research on google and asking friends, I found out it is a Thaumatophyllum Spruceanum (formerly called Philodendron Goeldii). It is a difficult plant to find explanations on how to take care of it : I tried all the advices given on websites but the plant is not doing well... Only few branches came out of the trunk but they stopped growing. The tips of the leaves are now curving downwards and some branches become pale green/yellow, they sag until falling off from the trunk...
I water the pot as soon as the soil goes dry, put it half-sun half-shadow... but nothing to do!

The pictures are from a week ago, the plant is doing even worse now.
Can someone help me please? I really care about them and want them happy!

    Thank you for reading me,
    Benny

gouldii is a true epiphyte. They like to be mounted up in big trees. They will grow as terrestrials providing you have soil that is chunky and aerated. I did not have a proper tree to mount mine on, (i.e. not big enough) so I made a hole in the ground and filled it with chunky epiphytic aroid mix and planted it in that.
