Funny, I just saw the title of this topic today, then I was outside and heard a bunch of crows cawing, along with another bird that was kind of shrieking at a higher pitch, so I looked up and saw a big bald eagle on top of a Douglas fir tree, with its wings spread out (around a six foot span), it took flight as the little black birds seemed to be chasing it off of their crow's nest, flying after it... I've never seen one here before, so maybe that's why.

Reading a little more about the birds, it looks like they prefer those kinds of trees, and maybe it was closer in size to around an eight foot wingspan, because the crows looked so tiny beside it, and they say the American crow has around a three foot wingspan. Awesome, now I get to say "the eagle has landed"... watch out!
