    That never has intense pink coloring, this is more like Malus floribunda. If you had included a habit photo it would have been possible to see if the tree had the characteristic habit for M. floribunda.

    The "habit" of a plant is it's shape and response to environment, so a full shot of the plant to determine if it is upright, shrubby sprawling, etc.

    I walked past the tree today and offer a "habit photo" as well as two others which may confirm the Japanese crabapple ID?
