My very tall Corn Plant has started producing near its base instead of from the top. Is this okay to leave as is, or what should I do? This is an indoor plant for me

    Thanks for the advice,

It's ok! How high is the top. Is there nothing up there? You could cut that to be closer to the new growth if you want. I would leave several inches (this statement is really based on nothing, is just something that seems reasonable to me - maybe it would want to put out more new shoots, so should have some room to do that).

The top of the plant died off, forcing it to channel its energy elsewhere. You need to consider why that happened so that the new growth will not be for naught.

Cut the main stalk back a few inches at a time, checking for discoloration of the interior. Keep cutting lower at least until you reach healthy wood.
