There were a few of this rhododendron in bloom near the service yard in Stanley Park. Is it a lepidote? And is it R. lutescens? The colour and blooming season are right. If my leaf photo shows a lepidote, that's right. Acuminate tips are right. Can you tell if this is deciduous? Thanks.

Lepidote isn't synonymous with deciduous, and I can't find anything that says if these are deciduous. New leaves are supposed to be red. I didn't see any red leaves, but don't know if it's evergreen and I'm too early, or deciduous and I'm too late. I don't know why I need to know, but it's often not clear to me, so I try to figure it out, unsuccessfully here. I could remember to look next November, but I don't think that will happen.

The plant in the photo does not appear deciduous.

Thanks, Eric (and Andrew). I missed seeing that, where they do use the term evergreen.
