I forget the correct term for this, but my curry plant has apparently had a kid. So how do I separate it for planting it on its own? I've excavated (with my finger) to a depth of almost 3" and can't find the root it sprang from.

Have you taken action yet? The following video suggests it is possible to propagate using a root cutting with no fine roots. However Nandalal Ranasinghe commented that it is difficult to propagate using this method.

You should repot your curry leaf tree every year anyway, so next time you repot the plant, take the plant out of the pot, unravel the roots and separate the sucker from the mother plant.

Hi folks. Sorry to be so long. According to the video, brute force seemed to be the order of the day. The larger pup seems to be surviving, and the smaller one seems pretty healthy. Serious surgery on the larger, and a snip with the scissors on the smaller. Many thanks

How long has it been since taking the cuttings? Please let us know whether they survive in the end.

Snipped the little one about August 1st, and the bigger one after you forwarded the vid on Aug 10. Photos to follow if they make it, relying on CRS syndrome if they don't.

Yes. I have four now from 1" to 3" tall. That's about the size of the original plant when it was given to me two or three years ago.
