Thought it might be nice to put together a little comparison plate of some of the citrus we are currently harvesting. On the plate you can see the fruit next to each other. Here are links to our notes for each of the citrus fruit in the photo:
For perspective, the plate is just over 10.5 inches across.

An impressive harvest! Neat to see what can be grown despite our northern climate.

Do you have a problem keeping stems from breaking for heavier fruit like those of the citron and Ponderosa lemon?

Funnily enough, no. I have more trouble with the Satsuma and other mandarin branches breaking from too much heavy fruit than the Citron and Ponderosa.

I have problems with those two, the Ponderosa in particular.

Interesting, maybe a difference in the rootstock? Not sure what my Ponderosa rootstock is, but pretty sure the Citron is on flying dragon trifoliate orange...

Both of my trees are on their own roots. I should add that I'm not fortunate enough to be blessed with heavy fruit set on my trees so I don't have problems with the others.

Very interesting. I am growing some on their own roots now, in addition to the original mother plants. I actually prefer non-grafted citrus in general under my conditions and if they are produced with mature wood, they seem much more vigorous, but this is the first year with the Ponderosa and Citron on their own roots. They have set fruit already. I will let you know if I see any increased branch break under their own roots.

Harvested a pomelo... Added it! This pomelo was huge, bigger than our 3yr old's head. Adding another pic for size context... it made a lot of great tasting citrus peel candy.

Nice! Do you guys sell pomello trees?
If not, do you know where I could get one?

Sorry for the late reply. We have been away on vacation. We do sell Pomelo trees, although have sold out currently. We keep a list of the citrus we currently have for sale here: Citrus Plants for Sale | Aprici

We have made quite a few new citrus this past year, including Pomelo, but we grow them for a while to ensure they are doing well before selling them. Please note we are a small hobby farm in North Saanich on Vancouver Island and do not ship. We sell by appointment only from our little farm.

Cool. I will be going to Saanich in the spring. If you have a pomello by them, please let me know. Thanks

If you're still looking, there are a number of Tahitian pummelo trees at GardenWorks at Lougheed in Burnaby.

You're welcome. There was a citrus cart outside and one inside. The pummelos are on the latter. There were quite a few so there's no need to hurry.
