    The photo with the nice, red apples clearly shows a very unnatural grove of identical commercial grade apples planted in rows. It seems to be irrelevant to an article about wild apples.

    Vitog - you obviously have a much more discerning eye than mine if this is the photo you are referring to??? For my part, I do not see rows. In any case, the thrust of the article is independent of the photos chosen to illustrate it.
