Please can anyone help to name this shrub.
As always your help is very much appreciated.

Weird fruits... but the whole plant looks like a Malvaceae. (Maybe Grewia, Malvaviscus or something similar...)

    Apologies Douglas for not replying.
I really appreciate you looking and trying to help.
Haven't had a chance to do a lot more research since you suggested Ochnaceae.
All my seed capsules are consistent with 5 berries.
Have tried searching www quickly but cannot find anything that matches.

I have been really zooming in on my pics to look for clues.
These 2 below are trimmed /enlarged from above .
First below.....I think there is a flower...taken from pic 4 above....top right corner...shows exerted working bits...as Malvaceae have.
Second...enlarged from pic 6 above, shows sepals more clearly.
I think you could be on to something Lila with Malvaceae....but again, as yet cannot come up with a match.

    Update.
    Just been searching AGAIN.
........."Malvaceae cloud forest Costa Rica " and found this....Malvaviscus palmanus

malvaceae cloud forest costa rica - Google Search:

    Which lead to this..

    Malvaviscus palmanus

    5 perfect red berries!
Lost track of the time I have spent trying to id this.

    Thanks again Lila.

Note....Wiki..says it is pollinated by humming birds.
