Good Luck. It will survive a forest fire...

Oh, the link does mention smothering it. If you want to avoid chemical methods, maybe you could try that.

Thanks for the info, doing anything for the next few weekends??,in any event I'll do what I can to contain it,I used to gather all the leaves from this property and use it as mulch in mine, maybe it would be better used to smother this monster

Heh, I enjoy visiting Campbell River, but the demands on my weekends are pretty high as it is.

Although I respect your desire not to use a herbicide, you could very likely eradicate your lamium problem permanently with one thorough spraying of glyphosate. There are still people who are unconvinced that it's toxicity is minimal but, it you have time to read the many scientific reports about it, I think you may be assured that this would be a low-risk solution . . . it's not like you'd need to repeat applications year after year. Digging in a large, forested area or even trying to smother these weeds could create more negative environmental consequences than a one-time application of glyphosate..

May be a relatively low risk to the person applying it, but it is highly damaging to other flora and fauna in the area. Don't use it!

Thank you both Margot and Michael, that's the dilemma I'm facing , to eradicate this weed using herbicide will more than likely eradicate any native plant as well, it has interwoven itself through the woods,up and down native shrubs , ferns, etc, the area is far too big to manually pull weeds, will have a chat with the owner tomorrow and see what she can tolerate more, the invasion or the elimination
