This arrived in some recent soil deliveries — and in sheltered spot w sunshine is growing alongside foxglove (digitalis) which is common in burned stump soil at the coast nr Vanc - I’ll try to upload A couple of pix

The stem is reddish and has hairy texture

The leaf is unique shape and is the strength of an alder leaf (not as strong as rhodo or Laurel ... and not tender like dandelion leaf)

I’ve tried to indicate scale inches in photo by including a typical Douglas fir needle sample on one leaf of subject plant

I took the photos today March 17/19

ÉDIT - it almost looks like heuchera but a diff leaf shape than the typical bronze beauty (insert popular name here) - leaf is more pointed, on this subject

Thank you in advance for Latin and or common name

Yes I think so far, I'm going with Luneria annua (wait for bloom now)

it'd be funny to say I have "Rosemary Verey" volunteering in my garden!

    Plant ID - Lunaria —

I’m Back to confirm flower and leaves together

In bloom for past few weeks in a sheltered (under huge evergreens) spot w some natural rain irrigation and morning sun

These have grown to be approx 18 inch tall spire

Thé bloom is long-standing it seems and holds up to wind rain

I’d consider planting on purpose in a woodland nature style garden (I assume it’s not invasive at the BC Coast)

    I’ll try to upload Photos
