    Hello,

Can you please tell me what does a new gardener need?
what are the basic equipment and supplies he needs for developing a garden?
and for taking care of it?

I appreciate if you lead me to the list of the basic and essential things he has to get

    thanking you in advance

    Hi Ethylene,

I don't know of a website that has a list, though a search at google might turn up some. Here's my list for flower gardening. There are a few other goodies for veggie gardening that would be nice as well, but I'm guessing you are in to flowers.

Spade - pointed shovel for digging holes
Shovel - flat shovel to scoop up things like mulch
Leaf rake - for leaves and debris
Garden rake - to level out beds
Hand pruners - bypass is best for living material
Hand trowel - to dig small planting holes
Gloves - those vinyl coated ones you can get at places like Home Depot, Lowe's or Walmart. Throw them into the washer when they get dirty and let air dry.
Knee pads - a $5 pair from one of the home improvement stores mentioned is just fine.
Weeding tool - sometimes called a dandelion weeder. Long stem with an upside down V at the bottom of the stem to get deep rooted weeds.
Something to use for collecting and removing weeds - an old 5 gallon bucket will do or some type of collapsable tote or leaf bag.
    Good quality hose and sprayer

Optional, depending on how large your garden and nice to have:
    Wheelbarrow or garden cart
Some type of small cart with wheels or a tote to haul around your tools
    box cutter or utility knife
long handled pruners for trees and shrubs
    pruning saw
    bulb planter
    leather garden gloves
small flat shovel for edging garden beds
    small hand rake
    garden clogs or muck shoes
    rainbarrel

For the same reason they're needed for praying. Optional.

As I said, they're optional - only if you want to protect your knees. Same with gardening. Dual purpose for those who garden and pray at the same time.
