African violet cuttings growing large root systems but no leaves

I am propagating about 70 cuttings.

5 have turned into plants, some are rooting and others have developed truly WILD root systems that are growing up out of their seedling pots... But they are not growing new leaves?

At first I thought it was a time thing but newer cuttings have since become plants without developing these crazy roots.

Does anyone know what’s going on??

 

Everything looks okay. The roots on top of the soil are because of the humidity in the planting cup. It's a good sign. You could sprinkle some medium over them if you wish. The new leaves are fine, too. One reason for the differing growth habits could be different varieties of African violet. But it's not really significant. Give it time, daylight hours are still pretty short so these cuttings are likely concentrating on growing roots for now.
