I think the original tree (in Ten Acres East) died and this replacement, 2001.0001 B, Acer x Freemanii 'Jeffersred' was suggested by the recent Director Wolfgang Bopp. It is in TW640 (Ten Acres West) at GPS 37853 23613.

The Acer sempervirens pictured in October 2018 has been adopted by me. It is in TE100 (Ten Acres East) at GPS 37927 23739 (a prime position).

Great stuff, thanks for sharing. Would it be OK with you if I repost the pictures to the Maple Society's facebook page?

Yes, please do, Emery (although I do not use Facebook). I'm glad it is of interest.

I went to see Freemanii today expecting to find it in full autumn glory but it had dropped perhaps 95% of its leaves already. Its outline tends to the fastigiate, I think. DSC_0006.JPG DSC_0005.JPG DSC_0007.JPG DSC_0002.JPG DSC_0001.JPG DSC_0003.JPG This red leaf was one of the few remaining on the tree, about 11 cm across. The larger leaf around 15 cm was on the ground beneath. Some 20m to the southwest across the tarmac path the Green Man keeps an eye on the tree. I remember Peter Gregory saying 'check the buds' and they look good.
