Visiting in the Cariboo area of the province and saw this unusual tree which appeared to have some berries along the stalk. It seems to grow around the edges of water ways, so assume it likes moisture. Curious as to what species it is?
Ditto to Sea-buckthorn Hippophae rhamnoides. @ Junglekeeper - a separate genus from Elaeagnus (though related), and also not a buckthorn (Rhamnaceae), so therefore, the English name is hyphenated
You can safely ignore The Plant List as an authority on plant names. It is a useful tool to understand some synonyms, but if you are going to use a worldwide database, use Kew's Plants of the World Online: Hippophae rhamnoides L. | Plants of the World Online | Kew Science
Yep - the Plant List has got its knickers in a twist badly over Hippophae - it accepts the genus as valid with several species, but not including its type species, which it transfers to a different genus! Completely bonkers (and totally against the rules of botanical nomenclature). As Daniel says, don't trust it.
