Nuts to do an uphill hike near Squamish, BC this afternoon when it's 31 degrees C but at least there were few other nutters about. On the way took a few snaps of blooms ... I couldn't identify ... thanks!

The only plant that I recognize is the white Rhododendron, R. albiflorum, in the second photo.

    My best guesses:

    #1 Copperbush (Elliottia pyroliflora)
    #2 White-flowered Rhododendron (Rhododendron albiflorum)
    #3 Sticky False Asphodel
    (Trianthus glutinosa)

You must have had a wonderful hike despite the heat.

Margot - I was fine having lived in the tropics for several years ... nice view of Howe Sound and up the Squamish Valley ... wife however suffered the heat/humidity badly.

There was originally a mushroom included in this thread, but it's not getting the attention of our mushroom people, so I moved it to a separate thread and moved/edited all the comments so that they referred only to the mushroom there and did not reference it here. The new thread is Identification: - Mushroom found near Squamish.

Yes, I agree with Luetkea pectinata for #3 because of the leaves along the stem in bpither's photo which you don't see in Trianthus glutinosa .
