Hi, I planted a Chamaecyparis nootkatensis 'Green Arrow' on April 17 and it has started to turn yellow. I have attached some pictures. The tree is about 8 feet tall. Is this normal or is the tree dying? For the first couple of weeks, I watered it daily then I stopped when I read that overwatering could cause the yellowing. Now I just let the lawn sprinkler water it when I water the grass twice a week. Thanks for your replies!
Root damage when it was dug at the nursery. Keep it moist and hope for the best. Any change since you posted?
I agree, depending what grower you got it from, many don't dig a large enough root ball for the size of the tree. They leave much of the roots behind in the field, unless it was pot grown. Good luck.
Thanks for the replies. Although my tree is still yellow, the damage seems to have stabilized and has not gotten worse for the last month. I'll wait and hope for the best.
