Name of tree

    I believe it is a sculpture shaped like a tree--there is some mention of a large sculpture in the garden, shaped like a tree with women's faces carved into it's branches. Based on it's unusual and glossy appearance, this is probably it.

    If that were the case it would explain the bark's unusual appearance.

    Thanks for posting the question and the answer. I was wondering about that too. It's hard to find a photo of the Golden Tree without people in front and taken from the same vantage point. Here's one that doesn't show off the same features that well.
