    Might be a willow.

    Its been comming back every year. Not willow it is spread all over the one bed.

    No didn't flower yet. Don't think it flowered last year either.

    Very much alike my perennial asters. They spread actively by rhizomes and they selfseed very well. Mine are sprouting all over the backyard. If allowed, they will flower later in the season and up to late autumn.

    It does look like a perennial aster. Maybe a native one like Symphyotrichum lanceolatum (particularly if the bed is on the moist side).
