Every year I have grown great carrots. I've protected them from slugs & carrot fly. This year something is eating my seedlings as they pop up through the soil. I've been checking them during the day and at night and can't find a culprit. I know it is not slugs, I'm pretty good at getting them.

Any thoughts? I've replanted my carrots 3 times, I see them coming up through the soil, whole rows of them and then they get about 1" high then disappear (I can find some of the uneaten plant below the soil surface.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts & solutions.

Cutworms, maybe? Or possibly mice. Can you post a picture of the carrot carnage?

The carrots are gone! Nothing to post. One day beautiful seedlings, next day gone. I haven't found any cutworms but will look. Any pest trapping methods to suggest?
