Is this some sort of papyaya or pawpaw?

    Any info would be great i've seen these here and there around town but i don't think people are growing it for the fruit , perhaps its inedible?

    Looks close to Carica x heilbornii, belonging to the same genus as Papaya (Carica papaya). More a tropical fruit, it's possible that in Auckland it may not develop its true flavour and sweetness.
