I have a number of japanese maples which I have collected over the years, but still have two which I have not yet identified. I would really appreciate it if somebody could help me.

The first is a linearilobum which has a vertical habit.
It had a lot of dieback last year and I pruned it right back. This year it appears to be a lot healthier. The leaves do not turn yellow in Autumn and I thought that it might be an atrolineare.

The second is a dissectum with a domed shape. This tree had a lot of dieback over the Winter and only a few of the branches have leafed out. I thought that this might be an orangeola although there appear to be a lot of dissectums which appear similar.

Sorry, can't help you with ID, but maybe you could think of repotting them, they look like "choking" to me...

Thanks, I will do that. Time flies and sometimes I find that a tree has been left untouched in the same pot for 3 or 4 years without me realising.
