Riverine wildflower ID Michigan

    These wildflowers were growing in great abundance out of the water along the bank of the River Raisin in Monroe, Michigan.

    The photos were taken in late July 2014.

    Can you help me identify them?

    Also, I have a photo of a caterpillar feeding on one of them. If you have any idea of what species that caterpillar might be, plesae share that too.
