That seems pretty common for this cultivar. It's happened to about half the ones I knew.

In Steveston Village, five trees of 'Kanzan' in bloom on the park grounds of Gulf of Georgia Cannery, Bayview Street and 3rd Avenue, April 29, 2013.

At the same time, five trees of 'Amanogawa' are finishing their bloom by the east side bus stop of No. 1 Road, just north of Moncton Street.

    *Whitcomb*

It's a clear day today when we found 8 whitcombs at intersection of Alexandra
Rd and Hazelbridge Way booming in the 20% range under the clear sky. You will have plenty of time later enjoying their beauty in Richmond!

    *Accolade*

Even it's a heavy cloudy and rainy day today, we still try to locate the first blooming of Accolade around Livingstone Place, Richmond. at the intersection of Granville and Gilbert. Among more than ten Accolades planted in this courtyard, 4-5 trees are observed to bloom in their first stages and may reach completely open stage within one week. Let's wait and see.

In the parking lot, more than 8 accolade cherry trees are nearly 70% blooming up. They are earlier than other places like the one in Minoru Park and 50 on the north side of Williams Street, where only few flowers observed.

    *The Beauty of Whitcomb*

Two Whitcombs in front of emergency gate of Richmond Hospital, ugly trimmed last year, have shown their beauty at this moment if you closely look at the full blooming flowers. The Whitcomb in Richmond around has reached its mature stage of flowering under the sunny sky today, even it was so bitterly cold and windy!

    *Pandora starts to bloom*
When we passed by Jones Street today, we found Pandora has begun to bloom now. Less than 10% of flowers are observed. Closely look at the flowers and buds, you will see the tiny white petals dancing around with fragrant in the air. Hope bees will notice it.

    Shosar
Five Shosars have begun to bloom now in Richmond on 5560 Minoru Blvd. They are supposed to flower at about the same time as Whitcomb. Although they have opened in the range of approximately 30%, the one in the middle does not show many flowers. . Some petals have fallen on the ground, probably due to the very strong wind in the past two days.

    Somei-yoshino
One Somei-yoshino along Westminster Hwy on the Bay parking lot is starting to bloom. Sadly, two others larger and beautiful Somei Yoshino trees that used to stand on the divider island on Minoru Blvd (on the west entrance to the parking to Richmond Center) have been removed due to the construction of a high rise housing cross the street. We wander where they did go. Hopefully they weren't just cut down and tossed away.

    Accolade
There is only one accolade tree in Minoru Park. It stands by a wooden bridge near the pond. Blooming pinkish colors tell us the spring is here in any minute.

Here's a nice pair of akebono trees also near Kwantlen, on the corner of Lansdowne and Arcadia. You'll see them all the time on the walk to/from the 301 stop if ever. I'd put these on the map already rather than just post here, just really busy lately ^^||

Shirotae has started blooming in a couple of days. Dorchester Circle at 7291 Moffatt Road has many to watch. It is still in its early stage, you will see them for a period of time while flowers continue to burst.
