Identification: is this a maple?

    I live in NE Calgary and found this along the rails. The tree is approximately 10 feet high, and all seeds and leaves are like this, so i don't think it's a sported maple. Can someone identify it? The samaras are curved into a circle, but are still 2 distinct blades.

    The common one like this is Amur maple.

    Thank you Ron. Looks like this one for whatever reason has changed it's samara conformation, but definitely an amur. Much appreciated.

    Yep, Amur Maple Acer ginnala. The samaras look like they've been attacked by something, maybe sapsucking aphids, which has distorted the wing growth.
