Hi, i have an Aloe, probably Vera, which bloomed this year, it grew a 2 meter long stipe which fell off after a while. Now there's little ones coming out of the soil AND directly of the "trunk" of the main-plant. Will the large plant die now? A couple of leaves are getting limp already. Should I remove the little ones? Thank you -Fabian
Nope. The parent plant will continue to grow. You can remove the little ones if you want to, but there's no urgency.
Thanks. And what about the limp leaves? Cut them off when they have lost enough water in them? Or just wait until they fall off?
Hi fabian, I too have an Aloe Vera doing the same thing. Mine is huge. I usually take it out of the pot every spring and pot up the babies and sell them off. $1.00 each. And Then re-pot the mother plant. This time soon as a matter of fact the mother plant is going to be stripped and the gel frozen in ice cube trays and then used for different things. I have already started another one to take its place. Just an idea. Orchid1959 :)
