I'll buy a 5cm diameter paperbark young maple. Should I buy it now, almost winter. or just wait until March next year? I'm in Vancouver. Is it easy to grow in Vancouver? Thanks.

I'd wait for spring in the ground, myself, and I think you should be fine there. I love mine, and it is slow growing, but gets better every year, next to Triflorum for a nice comparison. You could get it now and overwinter in a garage if required and then plant it in the spring. I may not know what 5cm equates to, however... I'm thinking container size.
