Just wondering about the best time of year for transplanting, or is it dependent on type of plant
I have a heather, another low growing evergreen bush and a bamboo. the two shrubs are quite large, say 4 to 5' across but the bamboo was only planted in the spring and about4 ft tall.

If top growth has ceased do it now. Water liberally beforehand, give them time to soak it up. Water after transplanting, until the heavy November rains start.
