Please can someone identify these mushrooms which i come across during a walk in The Forest of Bowland, UK. 1. http://www.rcruk.com/images/imag0095.jpg 2. http://www.rcruk.com/images/imag0266.jpg 3. http://www.rcruk.com/images/imag0269.jpg Many thanks for your help.
2 looks like Russula 3 look like Puffballs For more reliable identification of No. 2 a picture of a whole mushroom could be helpful, and a spore print.
Thank you for posting Plantlife, I agree with Sundrop. Add that the mushrooms on the left of 3 look like Inocybes, but also that more info is needed to ID. For many mushrooms, a shot of the underside of the cap is useful. cheers, frog p.s. This list may be useful: http://www.botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=44106
I have collected number 2 and have it in a plastic bag, i didnt know if it was safe to handle. What i can do is take another shot of it from its underneath at higher resolution. Ive also got one more mushroom which looks just like ; Inocybe rimosa, thats just going by its appearance with my eye. I dont want to get to close to the things as i wouldnt want to inhale any spores, or consume poisonous toxins through my skin. I shall update the pictures tomorrow.
1. mushrooms need paper bags, they suffocate and decompose in plastic. 2. even if they were toxic, handling them should be safe.
