I live in San Diego as well. Our tree, even though it flowers, never ever fruits- I am also a bee keeper, so know for a fact it isn't a problem regarding pollination. Can anybody please give me suggestions on what I am doing wrong? I know the tree is at least 15 years old as it was here when we got here- and has full green, healthy looking leaves. I'd like to harvest nuts!! thank you!! s

    Hi Stacy:

If it's flowering and at least 15 years old, then the only thing I can think of is it could be self-sterile. According to the California Rare Fruit Growers, some will not/can not self-pollinate. You could try pollinating by hand and see if that makes a difference, and if that doesn't work, then add another tree....

perhaps someone else will have a better idea.

How sad, the tree has been lonely for so long! :~{ I will just get another
tree/macadamia nut friend for it then- see how that goes. Thank you so
    much!!
