That is absolutely gorgeous, thank you for posting this Alex. May I ask where you got such a large tree?

This one is _very_ hard to find in Europe. I finally got a little graft from Esveld this year, but it broke off in shipping. So I still don't have one. Apparently very difficult to graft.

Thanks Alex! I will check it out. I just asked Adeline if they now have any, also.

What are the water requirements of pycnanthum, does it need a lot (like rubrum) as I would expect?

    50 liters per day??? Wow...

Our summers should be very similar (I think it is even hotter here), but for example if I give 50 liters here, the soil will be moist enough for a few days, and if there is mulch it will be moist even for much longer. Maybe it is because I have heavy clay 1 meter deep? Does this not also depend on the soil type? alex, do you have free draining, sandy soil?

    Emery,

Pepinieres Bessard, near Bourg-en-Bresse, have good specimens of A. pycnanthum (mine comes from him) grown in the ground. He is an old-fashioned pepinieriste (that's how I like them ;-)), ships within France. His prices are very reasonable. I have his latest catalog and if you need more info, send me a PM.
