Does anyone recognise this acer,it is approx 20yrs old but produces seeds (see picture) every spring.
Could these seeds be cultivated and if so when is the time to reap them in UK.
Also would it be possible to graft this tree onto a pseudplatanus (english maple, sycamore) rootstock ?

    Thanks in anticipation
    Michael.

Most likely Acer japonicum 'Aconitifolium' (photo gallery)

The seeds can definitely be grown, and may or may not look like the parent tree, but should not be called 'Aconitifolium'. Here's a good link about growing seedlings, including when to harvest them.

And you won't be able to graft onto pseudoplatanus rootstock - your best bet would be grafting onto palmatum rootsock (or japonicum if you can find any)

This one does produce some similar seedlings.
