I read in the April edition of Gardens West about a fig tree that is tolerant to Zone 5 and small enough to grow in a container. It's name is Lattarula. I have searched for where I can get one and keep being pointed towards the Italian Honey Fig which is not the same plant. Would any one know where I can source one on Vancouver Island or the mainland BC. I would also like to source a Black Spanish Fig which is also a compact variety. Thank you

They are one and the same. They are very hardy, but not to zone 5; more like zone 7. In a good season, you can get two crops,in the early summer and in the fall. They usually carry them at most larger nurseries. As for the Black Spanish, I have never seen them here, but there are some nurseries that specialise in different species.

A thank you to both of you. I have spoken with One Green World (based in Oregon) who will be sending me a list of suppliers in the Victoria area.
