    Hi,
This is a perennial flowering in March (Dublin, Ireland). It is growing under high shade.

    Hi Silver Surfer,
I have been away for a good while. Thanks for the reply. I can only count 5 leaflets, therefore it is C. quinquefolia ??? (def. Cardamine as you say)

Good to see you back here again!

We grow several different Cardamine sp.
Including Cardamine quinquefolia. It is beautiful, but a bit of a thug and forms large areas, even spreading through paths, it is just a froth of flowers in spring, so the leaves are not so obvious( It is shorter than Cardamine pentaphylla.) So felt that was not a match for your pic.
See link for C. quinquefolia... ours look identical to this...

Just looked at my books...Perennials by Phillips and Rix.
    Quote...
"Cardamine pentaphylla leaves digitate or ternate with 3 -5 leaflets. Petals white or pale purple. 30-60cm tall usually 30cm."
We have the white form... just felt it looked right for yours.... but maybe someone else can advise you.

Thanks, Silver Surfer. I had another look at both and I think you are spot on. I had a 'blind spot' moment on penta = 5. I forgot my Dennis Wheatley books!!!!
    Marked solved, I think.

I have been about for a while, how are things with you.
