My 'Tiger Eyes' planted about three years ago is now leaning at about a 45 degree angle (possibly caused by snow load). It is planted where it gets lots of sun. The trunk is leaning but the foliage is oriented properly to the sun. I would like to replant the tree to straighten it. Is this advisable and if so would I do this in October or when would be to best time? Would the foliage on the straightened tree reorient to the sun?
I've never seen a 'Bailtiger' (Tiger Eyes is a trademark) that wasn't leaning one way or the other. Green cut-leaved staghorn sumac also has this habit.
