I have a peach tree which was newly planted in February. It did have some leaf curl in the spring but recovered and has fresh leaves on it. There is now sap coming out of the trunk (picture attached). Can somebody please tell me what this is and what I need to do about it.

Potentially Cherry Bark Tortrix. Any signs of frass? I've seen several young Peaches absolutely hammered by CBT in the PNW somewhat recently.

On a side note -- some absolutely disturbing remedial recommendations in that other conversation.

I don't see any sign of frass but I learned something searching for this. Thanks for the suggestion. I think I'll just leave the tree as it is and give it a good copper spray in the fall and spring.
