Hi all, I recently purchased a new maple named a p 'Harusame'. There is little to
no info on the UBC forum and next to no real description of this maple in the
Vertrees 3rd addition. This picture is when buds were first moving. The way the buds
open are somewhat like'Higasa yama', but all colors are lemon lime. Anyone
have any experience with this tree?

    Regards
    Cirque

Harusame is a lovely tree. I have a small one (see pics), and besides the bright yellow-green spring coloring I like its crisp, clean summer green. It has really taken off for me this spring, with lots of lush new growth. Here's the description I have in my database:

I didn't pay much attention to it last fall, as we had a rather boring one as far as maple color goes. This year I will try to take some pics if we have good color.

Harusame best known for its autumn colour. The red is dusted with yellowish random markings. It's a small bushy and upright tree less than2-3metres tall. Harusame means spring rain
