Last Summer I planted a variegated Maple tree. Being the first year I wasn'tsuprise when the leaves turn a little brown at the tips. This spring it strated growing nicely,, but then it seems to either slowed way down or stop? I notice the leaves seem to be a bit curl and on the small side? Is something wrong with it or do I need to give it more time? I live in Minnesota.
Is this a high wind area? I have the same issues in texas. Metromaples has a good list of things that will cause leaf burn. Here it is: Twenty-One Ways To Have Leaf Burn: Growing Japanese maples in Hot Climates, about a quarter of the way down the page
If you could post a photo that would be helpful. Variegated maples have a tendency to change on us a bit when they change growing conditions. It could also be stress related so I would prefer to have a look.
