I got this plant a few years ago. Its leaves smell kind of like stinky feet, and are fuzzy. Any ideas?
Hmm, maybe Any idea as to the species? Thanks though. Now I know that one of the plants I have is a Crassula muscosa.
Agree with togata that it looks like Crassula. However, don't think that Crassula muscosa, common name Rattail Crassula, is correct. http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?i...b:IE-ContextMenu&rlz=1I7SUNA_en-GB&tbs=isch:1 http://www.desert-tropicals.com/Plants/Crassulaceae/Crassula_lycopodioides.html
Looks just like the Aichryson laxum, sitting on my desk. This plant was given to me recently. I just smelled it--yes stinky feet. Aichrysum laxum is a Crassulaceae plant from the Canary Islands.
mine looks very similar to yours. is yours a laxum or a domesticum? Could you have a look at my thread and tell me what you think?
I googled Aichryson laxum and got a whole spectrum of different varieties. This is either very variable species or very frequently misidentified plant. I got two unlabeled plants in my house, quite different, but both matching to the google pictures. One has kind of concave and non-glossy leaves, another - convex and glossy ones. The plant in this thread is something between.
the smelly leaf plant is Plecthranthus. I used to have one. Sorry I don't have the species right now, but I am for certain that is the genus. I'll look further into it. should have it soon.
The stems on the plant look similar to the plant I had. and the leaves were also fuzzy and smelly. But your plant has smaller leaves. Do the leaves has a structure like this under them ? http://www.flickr.com/photos/agnesl/6942008164/
Rats. because like I said, everything else other than your leaves is exactly like the plant I had. I can even smell it just looking at the pictures. :P
