This weed is growing everywhere in a high pH soil in Kent UK. In fields (where on the picture weedkiller has been applied) and around the local village St. Nicholas at Wade.
I was informed it was "Annual Mercury" but looking at comparison pictures does not seem quite right?
    Can anyone identify?

Could it be Smyrnium? We call it by the common name of Alexanders in Bermuda, if it is Smyrnium.

Does look like Alexanders, though that isn't usually an arable weed.

I agree looks like Smyrnium olusatrum, Alexanders.

I associate this species with hedgerows, roadsides and the edge of fields.
