Matthias it will keep growing upwards creating new branches and leaves and so on as it goes and the lower ones that are not needed anymore will fal off. Your Poincian is looking very good. The other thing you will need to do is keep transplanting it to wider pots everynow and again if you want it to keep getting taller.

Yes, this is what I see and what I'm hoping as well, that it will keep growing.

Hey Nath - finally! Here are your long-awaited Yellow Framboyan flowers. These trees are not all that spectacular, just basically willowy blooming sticks.

I have seed, if you'd like to trade.

    Hola Lorax,

Hey Lorax, it may be spindley but the flowers are very pretty. I am trying to imagine what a whole tree in flower must look like. As to the trade yes please what do you need. I currently have a surplus of Tomatillo seeds, Californian Poppy(Orange Variety) Lilly, Mexican Marigold, or maybe you want to wait until I get back from Mexico and see what I can pick up there. Send me a PM and we can sort it out.

    Hola Nath,

Gracias de todas maneras por tu respuesta.

Hola Gurucubano feliz nuevo ano!

Well Nath, I don't know how your royals are doing (language? lol) but mine are in really really poor shape. No idea why. One of them is now just a stick in a pot, starting to go brown at the top so not a goo sign. The other three have very small amounts of growth at the top that just can't seem to get going. I don't know what else to do other than wait! Poor babies :(

Well in a last ditch effort I have repotted them into a different mix. The other one was absolutely saturated. Like if you squeezed a handful, water streamed out. It broke down really fast - was pretty free draining about 9 months ago!

Didn't have any larger pots , so they are in the same ones. Think they are a little cramped but at least the mix they are in is much much better. Will see about getting them in bigger pots once they are back in good health (if they get there!!!)

I haven't watered them since the repot. The roots were so wet, and I have read that dry spells can be good for them so might wait until morning before watering them. Or is this the complete wrong thing to do? I'm not used to these lol.

    Aasir22,

I have has some problems but decided to get drastic and removed all the lower branches and left the topmost ones and it seems to have done the trick as new baby branches are coming out where I removed the old ones and also the topmost branch is healthy with new growth, i'll see how they progress through spring and let you know. I did have problems though because i left them in the care of someone else while we were in mexico for 7 weeks and they suffered a lot due I think to lack of water and sunlight. I'll keep you updated.
