help identifying this tree

    OK, I'll show my ignorance: I assume that this tree is trimmed to this shape...? If this is its natural growth, even more cool.

    Daresay Ron B will nail this with one look, but closer views of the structure of the leafy bits would help with ID.

    seems you're right. I cannot find another photo of one like it so it must be pruned that way.

    Probably a cypress or juniper; definitely not a pine. And definitely trimmed like that poodle, not natural.
