Sherry.... "Devil's Backbone" is Pedilanthus tithymaloides, a Euphorb, not Kalancoe at all.

 

A classic example of why you shouldn't always take the information found on the internet as gospel.

It also might be a clear reason as to why people who send other people cuttings, might try labelling them...so that someone doesn't have to guess what the heck they're even growing.

Hi Beth,

I never knew that about Epazote, I havent looked into it before, we use it to give flavour to quesadillas and when cooking black beans or kidney beans.

Katalina, that must have been one of my fotos in an earlier post but I do have varying Sagos or Cycads of different ages and heights. One of my favourite species of Fauna.

Are there different varieties of devil's backbone, or just one type? The stem grows in a zig zag. So cool and unique.

There's regular, which is green, and 'Variegata' which is pink, white, and green. I used to grow the variegate one, let me kick around my photo archives for a pic.

 

Ok yes...I thought there were different ones, but I don't know much about this plant really. I do know that I like it though. Looking forward to seeing your shot...
