I would like to root some muscadine cuttings before we move. Can anyone help me with the best way to do this the first of August?

Thanks Ralph. I have also found out from my research, that you can layer them now, which sounds easier for me. Just hope they take hold before we sale. If not , will just snip, pot up and go--Ha! It is hard to leave this place, but our new place is a blank canvas, just waiting for beautiful plants--my poor husband--Ha!

You have probably already started layering your vines, I just checked in and looked around again today. For what it's worth, I just had a similar scenario. My entry, "Grape Vines" in May. Update: I just finished the layering process and cut the pots loose, They look good. The new owner was willing to let me continue to care for my layering pots after the close of escrow. Maybe you will get a nice buyer too if you aren't moving too far. Good Luck.- Sharon S.
