    Hi,
I have these insects (looks like some kind of beetles) all over my squash plants in late summer. What are they?

    Thanks.

Sorry haven't a clue about your bugs but do have a question about the squash. My mother used to grow one that looked like yours and she called marble something. It was a hard winter squash and tasted great. What kind is yours? barb

This is a type of Japanese pumpkin, aka Kabocha squash. I got the seeds from Agrohaitai. The variety is "Squash FSq003 Sweet Yellow". All those three taste great but this one is simply the best. It tastes like chestnuts and sweet potatoes combined. The yield is not very high, but it is well worth it.

I have grown all three of these varieties. The "Jing Orange" is very beautiful and the taste is great too. The Lixiu is higher yield and the quality is still great - much better than squash you find on market.
