    Hello,

This year I noticed that at the junction where one of the main branches on my fig tree joins the trunk there is discoloration and what appears to be a raised growth.

Is this a problem and if so what should I do about it?

I don't know the variety but the ripe figs have green skin, red flesh and are large, juicy and very sweet. This is a mature tree, currently three stories high.

Here is a picture of the joint:

Hmm no idea what this could be but keep in mind that BC you get alot of rain and this could be some kind of mold...
This is just a wild guess... but fig trees are very resiliant trees and if you really worried at the worst you could cut the infected branch.
