Sugar Maple has spots on leaves

I have a sugar maple that has black spots on the leaves. Any idea of what is affecting them.

Maple tar spot. A very common and harmless fungus that appears on the leaves just before autumn leaf fall. Nothing to worry about.

 

Thanks Michael. I have been looking at several other larger trees on my property and others, and am seeing the same thing. Thanks again for reassuring me.
