I have a 10yr indoor spider plant that has outgrown its pot. I saw a pot that I liked that is about 4' tall and about 2' wide. My question is if I fill the pot 3/4 full of soil, will the plant like the new home and will I have to drill holes in the bottom for drainage. Or should I make a false bottom, leaving 2' for soil. Thanks, Don
Always have drainage! Post a photo of your plant, and I'd also like to see this huge pot. Hope that you have a handcart to move it...a pot 4 feet by 2 full of dirt and spider plant is gonna be HEAVY.
You could also buy a slightly smaller plastic pot (And I'm thinking of weight here...) that does have drainage holes to fit inside this pot you like - although I'm not sure they make them that big....!
