Very nice, Blake - so ornamental and pretty. Perhaps you will share some of your seeds with me...

    Et2007:

I take it you have no seeds for your passiflora?

Those are just gorgeous, Blake! Are they tasty? Yes, I would love some seeds when they're ready - thank you very much.

No blackberry, Vic, but I am a gardener, so I am home all the time tinkering around the grounds, in my pots, or with my seedlings. Usually not too far from the nest.

The updating is done in my album ( http://www.botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/forums/album.php?albumid=42 ) for now, more pictures will be coming as time goes on. I did not know that one could eat a seed, I havent tried it before... Ill take a shot of an old seed that I had last year in a min. to see if it looks like the one you eat Vic.

    :)

Ok, I thought they were the kind of beans you eat - but they're just ornamental then? Seeds look kinda cool.

Yes Et2007, well if they ever produce seeds, we must trade. I will have many Caerulea seeds next season...

    Thanks Penny!

I have two seeds left, but hoping my one on the trellis will produce fruits next year. I will be over-wintering the vine because they produce in the 2nd year. After the 2nd year too, they can be put in the ground because the root system is developed, and then they become a perennial, returning every year!!!

I hear they over-winter quite well, so I am optimistic. I will be cutting it down from the trellis of course, and leaving only a bit of growth - this is the proper way. All the pruning too, will make that thing so thick, full, and bushy for next season.

I had it in my apartment all of last February when I first started the seeds, and it thrived in here. I just kept pruning it back until it was time to go outside. In Spring of 2010 I will pop it back outside and watch it take right off for me - with flowers everywhere! How exciting.

Here is my new 25-30' garden I cut out recently - bringing all my smaller gardens together. Keep in mind that this is just the bare basics, and I haven't even pulled the weeds yet, between the fences. My mom thinks I should just let them die off this winter, and then in Spring, easily pull all the seedlings.

I still have to amend the soil, and I also bought 160 tulip bulbs yesterday, that I am going to bury for Spring. This whole garden can be seen in full view from my living room window, so I am going to load it up with flowers and gorgeous plants! So excited!
